On his work, Francois Asuncion writes: “‘Wellington, Dawn’ is a conventional chillwave/disco piece akin to Tame Impala’s ‘Borderline’. However, I feel that the creative process behind the track, such as the composition, mixing and mastering, has been a more meaningful experience than the track itself. Prior to the song’s composition, I felt I was ‘creatively bankrupt’—as if all my song ideas were lacking. Composing and mixing this song, alongside the valuable advice I’ve gotten from my lecturer, I have learnt how to trust my own instincts – if it sounds good to me, then I should keep going at it.”
