Luxor Temple in Luxor (Ancient Thebes), Egypt is a magnificent ancient Egyptian temple that was built around 1,400 B.C. It has been the site of near continuous religious use for over 3,400 years. In fact, there is an ancient Roman church and a 800 year-old mosque here. Luxor Temple was developed mostly by King Amenhotep III and King Ramesses II and for me, the courtyard featuring multiple large statues of King Ramsesses II was the highlight of my private sunset tour. In fact, my tour guide Nour is an Egyptologist, and if you're going to get a tour of Luxor Temple, there is no better way to be given the tour than by an Egyptologist.
