Here is a Los Ángeles Negros - Despacito 8 track tape being played off of my Columbia 8-track deck. This is a somewhat rare find at least in the area where I live. I recently picked this tape up at a local thrift store for 50¢, I always keep my eyes open for 8-tracks and players when I go wherever second hand goods are sold. I'm not fluent in Spanish but I do enjoy hearing something a little different. Anyway, this video has been recorded using a smartphone with a monophonic microphone and the original recording is coming off an imperfect condition 8-track so it sure doesn't sound perfect. If you like the song, I do suggest buying the album.
Just in case you are curious, the reason the top of the player is removed is so I can monitor tapes that have not been serviced or ever played before. I look at the tape when I may hear some distortion and I also watch it right when the splice comes by as it needs to be pulled out right away for the repair. Also having it open allows for a fast and easy cleaning as some tapes that haven't been played in decades can sometimes make the head dirty from the graphite backcoating on the tape. Sometimes the head isn't just dirty from graphite dust (dark gray/black colored) but from oxide dust off the magnetic side of the tape, I really hate seeing a bunch of oxide deposits (usually brown colored) on the head as well as the capstan and program sensor contacts as that usually means the tape is going to hell. I have several other players that I use but this one has the closest to correct speed and works well with my stereo.
It has been brought to my attention that the exact audio from this video can be downloaded for free elsewhere on the internet. I would just like to point out that DOWNLOADING IT CAN BE ILLEGAL, even if you don't live in the US. If you like the song, GO BUY IT!
