Here is a 1956 Cox Babe Bee, it is a very early version with the 3 piece piston. The 3 piece piston was used in the Space Bug, Space Bug Jr., Thermal Hopper, Strato Bug and early Babe Bee. It has an aluminum connecting rod held into the piston by a clip and a ring. As you can hear, the engine isn't running very fast. The piston seems to have a lot of play in it although it doesn't seem worn out. It was just getting dark out so I had to turn the light on that is on my camera. It wasn't light enough out for my tach to give a reading. I'll most likely re-record this video in the afternoon.
