Mid '70s commercial for the now defunct Judy's Hamburgers fast food chain. "Judy's Home Style Hamburgers and Fixin's" was a Nashville, TN based fast food franchise. In the June of 1978, "Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers" of Dublin, OH filed a lawsuit accusing Judy's of "patterning its menu, building design, advertising campaign and mode of operation after those of Wendy's". Both chains served square patty hamburgers, chocolate milkshakes, chili and used a similar logo font as well as similar building designs. Wendy's sued Judy's for $10 million in damages as well as a court order instructing Judy's to "cease and desist from engaging in any action designed to misappropriate the goodwill, assets and business of Wendy's". This was recorded using my smartphone so I apologize for the poor audio quality. I'm in the process of getting a better camera with stereo audio inputs. The reel to reel tape recorder being used here is a 1968-69 Sony TC-230. It is a recent thrift store find and addition to my reel to reel collection. It needs its guides refinished and its head replaced as the left channel pole piece has started to open up.
