Leading. Inspiring. Healing. showcases how Traditional Owners all across the Great Barrier Reef and its Catchments are delivering on their aspirations for land and sea Country and creating better outcomes for their communities.
While Heart Of The Reef – A Call For Healing was a call-to-action, Leading. Inspiring. Healing. demonstrates the impacts of Traditional Owner-led projects on the Reef through Great Barrier Reef Foundation grant programs. It shines a spotlight on the transformational work happening right now to slow the impacts of climate change and benefit Indigenous communities through genuine partnerships, preservation of culture, capacity development, and promoting youth leadership.
But it’s much bigger than that. In many ways, Leading. Inspiring. Healing. documents a social movement – the much-needed step change happening in the conversation about the value and impact of Indigenous input and leadership.
This game-changing initiative has been made possible in large part by the strong leadership and governance work of four Traditional Owner-led committees.
