Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Labial Geyser is in the northeastern Pink Cone Group of Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin. Eruptions are less than or more than one minute in duration and involve prominent, wide to almost fan-like spouting in different directions from three separate vents. In recent years, observed intervals (= eruption start to eruption start) have ranged from about 6 to 9 hours. After a Labial eruption, intermittent low and brief spouting takes place for some time. Mid-cycle splashing can also occur.
