Box Spring (2021)
Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Box Spring is a fountain-type geyser in the eastern Pink Cone Group of Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin. The vent is about 1 by 2 meters in size, steep-walled, and subquadrate in shape, although it actually has five corners. Eruptions vary in energy and duration. Reported durations range from a few seconds to about four minutes. Eruption intervals (= start to start) are erratic and range from about 10 to 90 minutes. Eruption heights range from low to several meters.
