Unnamed geyser in the far-western Fountain Group

Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.

This clip shows an eruption of an unnamed geyser (UNNG) in the far-western Fountain Group in Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin. Using sightlines, its vent is apparently at 44° 33' 02.16" North latitude, 110° 48' 43.87" West longitude, using the 2016 satellite photo on Google Earth.

The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA. New Bellefontaine Geyser is in the Fountain Group of Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin and is located 52 to 53 meters northwest of Clepsydra Geyser, at 44° 33’ 04.90” North latitude and 110° 48’ 34.13” West longitude. It is approximately 5 by 5.5 meters in size. New Bellefontaine occurs at the northwestern terminus of a linear fracture capped by several hydrothermal features: Jet Geyser, Super Frying Pan Geyser, Spasm Geyser, Clepsydra Geyser, Clep’s Well, and New Bellefontaine Geyser. It is also at the southern terminus of another linear fracture consisting of Gore Springs, Elusive Geyser, Ridgeline Geyser, and unnamed features. New Bellefontaine Geyser has frequent eruptions - they occur about once every minute. Water erupts from its central pool, from a vent on the northwestern side of its yellowish geyserite border, and from two small vents on the southern side of its border.
