Kenwood KR-V127R from 1988. Eye candy. Might not be audiophile or the most accurate to some ears, but I can attest that the 130WPC are real. Discrete transistors. Surround amp is STK.
I have a few of these receivers which I bought in various states, respaired, and cleaned up. This model got me into the receiver collecting disease. After seeing the bells, lights and whistles, I started looking at other brands and purchasing things then it got out of control as it is today.
There’s a power regulator which gets really hot and needs to have the solder reflowed.Also a couple other places where solder joints should be touched up.
Very highly reliable unit, and one of the easiest to service. And surprisingly it’s low form factor and does not get very hot either. I’m not sure why, and I feel it has to do with good engineering. Example: you can access everything from below with a simple plate removal. And some of the boards are like cards that come out.

It’s pushing my Pioneer HPM-100’s really well tonight.
