Whilst working on a long term project spanning the past year around locations in Indonesia I heard about a small island located close to one of the regions I was filming that was supposedly filled with snakes. There had to be something about it seeing as it was a small uninhabited island just off the very densely populated South East coast of the island of Lombok. Taking time out of my schedule I secured the services of a guide with a boat to take me to the island to see just what was there.
From the island further developments in my search for snakes on the mainland took me then to an amazing encounter and very surprising result of actually catching on film a hunting reticulated python. I'll not give too many clues away though, the best adventure is the journey itself. Little did I think I would be talking to camera but anything can, and often does, happen in wildlife filmmaking.
I shot this entirely using a GoPro Hero3+ camera, edited with Final Cup Pro X and transcoded with MPEG Streamclip. The 'cover' image was created in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
