I was fortunate enough to find a bottle of the Murray Hill Club Special Release #2 to review for everyone. It's a limited release of only 700 bottles and retails for $150 from Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Distillery. This is the second (and final) time they’ve done a Special Release Murray Hill Club finished in a Pineau Des Charentes cask. In order to create this Blended Bourbon, they started with 12 and 20-year-old MGP sourced bourbons that were then joined with a 10-year-old light whiskey. The light whiskey only comprised 10-15% of the blend, so the 12 & 20-year-old bourbons remain the stars of the show. Overall, I feel Nancy Fraley did a great job balancing the sweet Pineau cask finishing to create a Special Murray Hill Club that Jos. A. Magnus & Co. can be proud of.

As of December 2018, my current bottle count is over 2,500. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been accredited by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I've been actively collecting for the last two decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into what I think is a pretty nice collection.
