John Henry “Doc” Holliday was a dentist, gambler, and gunfighter who became one of the most legendary figures of the American Old West. Born in 1851, Holliday trained as a dentist but soon found himself drawn to a life of cards, saloons, and frontier adventure.

He became close friends with lawman Wyatt Earp, and together they cemented their place in history through their roles in the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, which took place in Tombstone, Arizona, on October 26, 1881.

Afflicted with tuberculosis for much of his adult life, Holliday sought relief in the mineral hot springs of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, hoping the waters might ease his suffering. Despite his efforts, he passed away at 10 a.m. on November 8, 1887, at the age of 36.

Doc Holliday is believed to be buried in Linwood Cemetery, overlooking the town of Glenwood Springs — a fitting resting place for one of the West’s most enduring legends. #sfrproductions #historyadventures
