"We came in peace for all mankind"
In 1972, then US President Richard Nixon set off on a diplomatic trip to Mao Tse-tung´s revolutionary China with a delegation of over 100 people. The successes are controversial, the motivations behind them diffuse.

The minimal music composer John Adams, together with the author Alice Goodman, turned the media spectacle into the opera NIXON IN CHINA in 1987.

Under the musical direction of Australian Daniel Carter, the Berlin theatre collective Hauen und Stechen presents and reflects on the work and event in its unmistakable and multimedia theatre language.

We look forward to the last premiere of the season - on 22 Jun with follow-up performances on 28 Jun and 4/10/12 Jul 2024.
