We are building a city and call it Mahagonny. After extensive preparations, rehearsals and set-up work have been underway for a good three weeks now, with all the ensembles working in parallel to the regular programme throughout the opera house. And why does placing emphasis on the entire building have significance? Director Benedikt von Peter explains this best himself.
We are looking forward to the premiere of AUFSTIEG UND FALL DER STADT MAHAGONNY (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht on 17 July, with further performances on 20, 22, 24 and 26 July 2025. Please note that the performances are either sold out or only have a few tickets left.
