The Toyouke Daijingu in Ise, is the outer shrine of Ise Jingu, one of Japan’s most sacred Shinto sites. Established over 1,500 years ago, the inner Ise Jingu is dedicated to Toyouke-Omikami, the goddess of agriculture, food, and industry, who provides sacred offerings to Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess worshipped at the nearby Inner Shrine (Naiku). The Outer Shrine’s tranquil forest setting and traditional wooden architecture embody deep spiritual significance and ancient Japanese craftsmanship. It remains a vital pilgrimage destination and a symbol of Japan’s enduring cultural and religious heritage.
