IRISH ROVERS in Northern Ireland (2) starts with Jimmy Ferguson singing about "The Green Glens of Antrim" followed by Will Millar musing on the legends of the leprechauns. A reel on at the ruins of Dunluce Castle leads to the Rovers at The Old Bushmills Distillery at Bushmills, County Antrim. The closing medley includes Whiskey You're the Devil, Whiskey Chorus, Mountain Dew, and Nancy Whiskey. The area has a history since 1276 with distillation, and a license was granted in 1608 to Sir Thomas Phillips by King James 1 of England to distill whiskey, and this distillery dates back to 1743 - 270 years ago! These Rovers shows were a part of their regular CBC Vancouver TV half hour series back in the '70s and '80s.
