The Cult, Opus, Feargal Sharkey guest on GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE with host Stu Jeffries on the show of April 18 1986. The CBC Vancouver produced program featured music from Europe as well as the Top 20 Singles countdown of that week and Trivia questions from a-ha, Robert Palmer, Animotion and Glass Tiger. The Cult & Sharkey are both in April's Top 20. From Derry, Northern Ireland, Feargal Sharkey, of the punk band Undertones, went solo and had a #1 UK hit with "A Good Heart" in 1985. Formed in 1973, Opus is from Graz, Austria, and their biggest hit "Live is Life" (#1 in Canada for 7 weeks in 1985/6) is still a singalong favourite at European Sports events. Vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy are the two songwriters of the post punk goth rock band The Cult, formed in 1983 in Bradford, England. In 2012 the Cult and Opus are still active.
