Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community of New Oxford, PA began as “a handful of “old folks in a large farm house” in 1908. It was an attempt of 16 congregations of Southern Pennsylvania to care for the aging Brethren members who lacked the financial resources or family support to care for themselves.
Evolving over the past 100 years, it now covers over 300 acres of land and is home to 1,100 residents. All types of housing are used including single family homes, cottages, apartments, assisted living and nursing care.
The late 1980’s saw the beginnings of in-house television as a means to communicate to all of its residents. Suggested by Chaplain Vernon Miller, it became a reality, as funded by the Founders Club with $8,700 to purchase new video equipment.
“In-Touch,” a 30 minute Monday – Friday program has been produced for over 25 years to provide news, weather, devotions and entertainment, daily to residents of Cross Keys Village.
Since its beginnings, thousands of programs have been produced.
Join us for a look at possibly the longest, continually produced, Brethren related, daily television program. Producer, Cindy Hockensmith is interviewed by host, Brent Carlson.
