Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD) | Internacional Day of Persons with disabilities, 2015 @GnrdNet | Uploaded 8 years ago | Updated September 27 2023
Around one billion people live with some kind of functional diversity. On December 3rd it is celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It aims to promote their integration in society and ensure equal opportunities.
People living with some kind of functional diversity are one of the most neglected sectors of society and their rights are constantly violated. They are most of the time absent as recipients in public policies, in development plans and in poverty reduction programmes.
Global Network for Rights and Developments (GNRD), with this day, aims to encourage a greater integration into society of people with disabilities in order to attract attention and mobilize support for key issues related to the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and in its own development.
Made by Paloma Navas and Javier Enriquez Ferrer with the collaboration of: Esther Peña, Lorena Navarro, and translated by: Maria Medrano, and Manuel Benedicto.
