This trick also works in some other places such as the klaptrap room in Tiny's temple and Lanky's room in the llama temple. If there is no cutscene other than the instrument cutscene, you will grab the banana after the music ends and keep holding your instrument (see 4:00). It doesn't work with stationary bananas.
The instrument void can be canceled with your instrument, the pause menu, a tag barrel, or a screen transition (loading zone etc.).
The following actions cancel the instrument in hand glitch:
- entering a tag barrel
- using a bananaport
- triggering a screen transition
- playing your instrument again
- entering an animal chest
