The Tormach 8L Lathe has a very straight forward installation procedure. Most anyone can do it with the minimal amount of tools, the most important being an engine hoist, and a pallet jack. You have the option to install it on a stand or it can be installed on a tabletop, as long as it is sturdy enough. The tabletop option is covered in detail in the 8L Operator Manual.
