The home opens into a dramatic great room with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of Manhattan. To soften the space and create intimacy, Francis introduced sheer drapery, a bespoke walnut and bronze room divider housing dual TVs, and layered textures that balance openness with warmth. In the adjacent sitting room, a concrete fireplace with integrated shelving anchors the space, while a stone table and beetle chairs invite conversation.
The minimalist kitchen was designed for both daily family life and entertaining, featuring a long, streamlined island that functions as a central gathering point. Connecting the three levels is a striking cantilevered stainless-steel staircase, accented by a site-specific wall sculpture by artist David Wiseman that winds through all three floors like a living element.
Upstairs, the primary suite serves as a tranquil retreat, adorned with soft earth tones, rich walnut accents, and an oversized bed wrapped in plush French fabric. A light sculpture by Ayala Serfaty adds a poetic glow, while custom slatted pocket doors lead to a spacious dressing area.
Downstairs, the family/media room is layered with deep, cozy seating, integrated walnut framing, a bar with resin-coated brass countertops, and lighting by John Pomp.
