Welcome to Le Chêne, a Parisian-inspired restaurant in Manhattan led by husband-and-wife team Alexia Duchêne & Ronan Duchêne Le May. This eatery marks the first solo project for the pair, and their inventive yet sophisticated culinary creations have turned it into one of the city’s most popular tables.

✨ A Thoughtfully Designed Interior
The stunning interior, designed by Frédérique Mortier d’Aumont of Fred Interiors, feels more like a stylish friend’s apartment than a formal dining room. Upon entering, a custom U-shaped bar in dark wood leads you into an intimate dining space of about 50 seats. With soft ambient lighting that glows over cherry-velvet banquettes, curved wood panels, and white-washed walls with mouldings that are adorned with Basquiat, Warhol, and even an original piece by Frédéric Anderson, it is equal parts modern, chic, and effortless.
✨ French Classics with a Twist
Duchêne reimagines French tradition with seamless flair and a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Creative reinterpretations include a pithiviers terre & mer stuffed with smoked eel and potato gratin, cod cheek nugget & caviar, and uni-topped French toast with bone marrow. Moreover, the extensive wine program, curated by Ronan, spans thousands of bottles with a focus on rare vintages and old-world classics.
✨ A Relaxed Atmosphere
Though expertly trained in fine-dining atmospheres, the team aims for a more welcoming approach. Guests report polished yet unpretentious service and a mood that beautifully balances special occasions with warmth and comfort.
