The last phase of the company's transformation from "project" to "automotive manufacturer" is being marked by the production prototypes coming off the line at INEOS Automotive's Hambach facility.
In addition to the €470 million Mercedes-Benz invested in a brand-new production plant in 2019, INEOS has invested more than €50 million since purchasing Hambach in January 2021. A new, fully automated body shop, a new, semi-automated paint shop, and an improved general assembly facility are all part of the line that is now specifically dedicated to the Grenadier. A brand-new, cutting-edge center for quality assurance also benefits Hambach.
INEOS is reaching the completion of a first production try-out phase after reconfiguring the new line for the Grenadier took just a year. Building 130 PTO1 Grenadiers is essential for specifying the assembly procedure and gives the engineering team cars representative of the production run for last-minute testing and certification.
When clients in Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East can complete their purchases either directly with INEOS online or through their local merchant, full pricing and specs will be made public in April 2022. Later in the year, North America will come after.
