With Launch Control, the new Porsche Taycan Turbo S can produce up to 560 kW (761 horsepower) of overboost power, and the Taycan Turbo up to 500 kW. (680 HP). In comparison to the Taycan Turbo, the Taycan Turbo S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds. The range of the Turbo S is up to 412 kilometers, while the range of the Turbo is up to 450 kilometers. Both all-wheel-drive variants have a 260 km/h top speed (161mph).
In the Zuffenhausen facility, the Taycan's debut is creating 1,200 new employment. Andreas Haffner, Member of the Executive Board in charge of HR and Social Affairs, emphasizes that "the Taycan is one of the largest employment generators in Porsche history." Some of these new hires will work on two-door sports vehicles in addition to the Taycan. Porsche wants to build a team that has a good balance of fresh hires and experienced sports car makers for the Taycan. On the grounds of the training center in Zuffenhausen, a newly constructed manufacturing hall will host a significant training program as part of this expansion. The entire workforce will have access to a digital learning platform that contains over 1,400 training modules on topics related to digital transformation and enables users to study independently and in accordance with their needs as they accompany Porsche on its transition into the electric and digital era.
