At least some of the time at first.
And eventually all of the time.
(Sooner than you think - when babies start to walk, it’s time to be done.)
But.
The diaper companies have convinced us moms and dads to go against our gut instinct (and nature’s design) and leave our babies…
…no choice in where they go to the bathroom
…no say in how their hygiene is cared for
…silenced when we parents are guilted into ignoring their specific cries to go potty in the right place.
Babies, like all other mammal babies, tell you they need to go potty outside their diaper…
…they tell you they’re not happy when they need to poop because they really don’t feel “right” about doing it in a diaper.
…they’re born this way, equipped with instincts and a voice!
Many of them wait til you open the diaper and then give up and go in the next one.
We can agree: they don’t deserve to have poo squished on their bottoms…
They certainly don’t deserve diaper rash (which didn’t become a thing until diapers hit the scene)…
They absolutely don’t deserve to be ignored or gaslit that their needs aren’t accurate or couldn’t possibly be real…”let babies be babies,” they say.
