“I mistook English fluency for business savvy.”

DFI Retail Group CEO Scott Price says one of the biggest lessons he learned from leading in Asia was not to confuse fluent English with business judgment.

After 35 years in the region, Price says some of the smartest business people in the room were often the most reticent in English.

His broader takeaway: “There is no Asia.”
