Artificial intelligence is changing how weapons are designed, manufactured and used on the battlefield.

Anduril co-founder and CEO Brian Schimpf joins CNBC’s Arjun Kharpal to discuss why modern warfare is becoming increasingly autonomous and connected — and why humans may struggle to manage the growing volume of data from drones, sensors, aircraft and other military systems without AI.

Schimpf addresses concerns around autonomous weapons, arguing that AI should make military systems more precise, predictable and easier to supervise, while keeping humans accountable for high-consequence decisions.

The conversation also covers Anduril’s plan to produce at least 1,000 cruise missiles a year, critical supply-chain dependencies on China, Europe’s push for defense sovereignty and why the $61 billion company is not rushing to go public.
