“I KNEW MY KIDS WERE MURDERED.” A father has finally gotten confirmation that his ex-wife and her mother poisoned his children.
On June 23, police found the bodies of Sarah Meyers, her four children, 13-year-old Harper, 11-year-old Hudson, 10-year-old Gavin, and 10-year-old Gracelynn, and her mother, Amy Steadman, following a wellness check. Reports say neighbors noticed a large amount of flies on the home’s air conditioner and “the smell of death” in the air.
Evidence led police to believe that the family was intentionally poisoned, along with one child suffering from fatal stab wounds. Police also say they found a handwritten note that alleges Amy’s involvement in their deaths. On July 27, police confirmed Amy and Sarah’s death to be suicide, while the children’s deaths were confirmed to be homicides.
Harmon and Meyers married in 2015 and lived in Utah together for four years. Harmon claims that in November 2019, Myers left with the kids without notice and went to New York. The couple divorced in 2020 and had been in a lengthy custody battle for the past six years. In April, Harmon was granted the right to have his children live with him for two months out of the year. They were scheduled to stay with him in Utah on July 1.
Harmon believes that if the custody battle hadn’t taken as long and a mental health intervention had taken place, this tragedy could’ve been avoided.
