The XP-Pen Magic NotePad is one of those devices I keep coming back to. It is not an e-ink tablet, but with its NXTPAPER screen, EMR stylus and new keyboard case, it sits in a very interesting place between Android tablet, digital sketchbook and paper-like notepad.

In this video I’ve been using the Magic NotePad with the keyboard case for about a week to see whether it makes the device more useful — or whether it pushes it too far towards being a tiny Android laptop. I also compare the experience with the Boox Tab Ultra C Pro, because the real question is not just whether this is good, but whether you want an LCD tablet trying to feel like paper, or an e-paper tablet trying to behave like an Android tablet.
