In this video I’m looking at the DuRoBo Krono, a small e-ink reader-style device with a minimal Android skin, a scroll wheel, voice recording, AI transcription and a deliberately stripped-back interface.

The interesting question is whether that minimal approach actually makes it calmer and more useful, or whether it sometimes starts to feel unfinished. I also go through a few community polls, including scroll wheel vs fingerprint reader, colour vs black and white e-ink, and minimal launcher vs full Android.
There are some genuinely good ideas here. The reader experience makes sense, the smart dial is more interesting than I expected, and the whole thing has a pleasingly simple direction. But minimal tech still has to be good. It cannot just be missing features and call that calm.
