I tested the reMarkable Paper Pure against two e-ink tablets with higher-resolution 300 PPI Carta 1300 screens: the ViWoods AI Paper and iFlytek. On paper, this should be an easy win for the higher-resolution devices, but e-ink screens are never quite that simple.
In this comparison I look at screen whiteness, contrast, small text, fine line detail, image rendering, ghosting, handwriting and zooming. The ViWoods has a genuinely impressive screen, the iFlytek looks very white, and the reMarkable Paper Pure does something rather clever with rendering and anti-aliasing that makes it far more competitive than the raw PPI number suggests.
