On the way back from the Elmia Nordic Trophy show in Sweden, I made a stop at Billackeringen i Mjölby — and this place absolutely blew my mind.
These guys are responsible for painting and customizing some of the nicest Scania show trucks in Europe, and I got a full behind-the-scenes look at how they do it. From designing the trucks, sandblasting and prep, to paint, custom stripes and decals, final cleanup and everything in between.
But the biggest surprise was getting to see the FIRST production Scania Longline with the new 2.8-meter cab!
I got to climb inside, look around the entire truck and really take my time checking out just how much extra room this new cab has. Seeing photos of these trucks is one thing — getting to stand inside the real thing in Sweden is completely different.
And of course, my blue Scania got to come along for the visit!
Huge thank you to everyone at Billackeringen for taking the time to show me around the shop and giving me such an up-close look at what goes into building and painting these incredible trucks.
The Europe trip may be coming to an end, but there are still a few surprises left!
