Well this project came out of the BLUE gates.....lets just say I was feeling somewhat emotional last week. What better movie to connect with?
Did you ever have that place when you were growing up that was like a second home to you?
Yes, I bet many of you can relate. For me, it was my grandparents house. A week ago today we helped them move from that house. (Okay its been going on for months but Thursday was actual "moving day".) And can you die from moving? *Fear pun intended* Gosh moving is a nightmare; I hate moves! Even when your not the ones moving its horrible! Whaaa!!
Yep, last week was just plain crazy. As I helped pack the last of their stuff, I could't shake the knowledge this would be the last time I'd be in this house. The place our family, shared 95% of every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays together - in my life time that is. The place I had about dozen birthday parties, or swim parties (They had their own pool). Heck, I first learned HOW to swim there.... So many fun memories spent with my cousins when we were little playing around that big house, swimming, watching the sunsets, fireworks... *sighs*
Now thats all I have: the memories. (At least their mostly happy ones....not to brag ;) Time to grow up and move on, but thats just part of life is it not? We grow up and grow away from the places and faces that shaped us into who we are now.
I'm not really sad, I just felt an inner need to pause and reflect on this time. I'm just a sentimental fool I suppose...
The one bright side to all this I guess is all those emotions gave me unsurpassed inspiration I haven't felt in weeks! I mean, I practically made this in one day (the raw edit that is; I spent the other days just adding to it and then yesterday just rendering). I first heard this song that following Saturday -YT recommended it. (That YT recommendation is getting dangerous for me; giving me waaay too many ideas). But a song titled "Inside Out" definitely caught my attention. The movie was already rolling around in my head from the move; I really wanted and felt the need to edit something with JUST Inside Out again. It was therapeutic editing you could say, lol!
I rather like how it turned out though, despite being thrown together, compared to my last IO vid ("My Blood"). I told ya I'd do better! The song is obviously a romance but I easily cut the parts of the song I wanted that matched the best, IMO; I hope the family love from Joy to Riley, to Riley and her parents is most prominently felt.
Oh and the coloring is NOT mine, its called "Coral" by Purfectors: youtube.com/channel/UCusq3TbOHZm-TCktXcafkVA (But I did tweak it to my liking a bit ;)
Anywho, enough of my blabbering on about my childhood memories and such......hey, Pixar's new movie comes out tonight! Who's excited to see Cars 3?? I'm excited!! I admit I had doubts when I first heard the news but its lookin good now! How dare I doubt Pixar....never again! I LOVED CARS 1!!! (And this 3rd one has a lot of that nostalgia. YES!)
OOooooohhhh, and who got a BLAST of a winter's chill Tuesday with Olaf's Frozen Adventure trailer?!?!? Oh my stars I was doing the happy dance all day that day, aheheehehee!!!
Okay, enjoy my friends! I shall return to my dull n dreary work life now ;/

Ahh, I have to say, I am NOT disappointed in it. Granted there are some design choices on Toothless that are a little off Im just relieved he has so much expression and life. I am also now confident that Mason will make a convincing Hiccup, and overall everything looked very promising.
I understand people have mixed feelings on a LA adaption (I do as well), but I feel more happy and excited to get the chance to relieve the movie anew again after 15 years. Plus, the fact that we are getting the same director (Dean Deblois), same composer (John Powell) and also Gerald Butler is reprising Stoick, I think its going to be quite special and unique. It literally could not be in better hands. What more could we ask for?
Anywho, hope you enjoy this little piece I threw together today! Sorry if the audio/sound is off. I cant hear very well in one hear right now; hopefully will be better soon. There were soooo many options I could have chosen for music but this one I envisioned the clearest and went with it. I decided to keep it simple and compare shots since there wasnt really a whole lot to work with. Still quite fun.... I will never get tired of editing the Touch Scene 💞

How can I begin to describe such a creative young friend? Ever since I discovered your vids back in July of 2013, I knew there was something that set you and your wonderful works of art apart. I remember ONE of the first things that caught my eyes were your custom thumbnails. Remember? You were the first one, that I know of, in the HTTYD fandom that started those....and so generously shared with me/us. In time we got to grow and share together through our work to become such good friends. And Im ever so grateful we have ;) Ive learned so much from you and admire them greatly! About this vid:
Ive clearly spent waaay too much time on this gift. This vid is primarily focused on Hiccup and Toothless but I couldnt resist including some Stalka and then Hiccstrid for the final verse. Believe it or not, I was actually through editing this the day BEFORE your B-day Betty, but its taken me 3 of these past 4 days to add the final touches....special for you two because you and Aversi are so detailed. *winks* Including, the coloring(s), overlays/textures, intro/ending, and then text/fonts. (The later I have zero patience in doing). I practically have my own post-production process for my own vids, lol!
Oh and speaking of effects, notice something Betty? *nudges* I finally got em! Yep, you got it, - its those super cool transitions I rave over in yours and other peoples vids. xD YES YES, look at the smooth blur on the clips/text!! They were easy to get too, only took me one night and they work beautifully. Its like a plethora of various additive dissolves, zooms, and colorings; I ♥ it, so I put a heavy dose of all those in here for ya, ahehe. YT makes it look rather dark though, on my PC the quality and colors are much more crisp. *shrugs*
Oh, and I have no idea where that smudge in the intro on, Give ME Your Hand came from; it was FINE in the editor! Whatever Vegas...you just have to make your mark. (Hiccup pun alert!)
