Welcome back to Sandustry, and Episode 13 is all about making the factory properly automatic.
The biggest breakthrough this time is finally getting our Void Petal production automated.
Instead of constantly having to interfere with the setup, we start refining how the Void Seeds, flowers and petals are handled so the system can keep producing while filters stop everything from escaping into places it shouldn’t.
We also discover a much better way to automate Red Sand.
By taking advantage of the Strataform repairing itself, the mining drones can repeatedly hit it without completely destroying the source, giving us a renewable setup that can keep producing material over time.
And then comes the part I’ve been putting off for far too long:
proper resource sorting.
Copper, red sand, snow, cinder and Moonhops all need to come off the main line in the correct order, so I start completely rebuilding the system with filters, teleporters and separate outputs to stop the factory turning into one giant contaminated mess.
It takes an unreasonable amount of trial and error, but by the end the factory is starting to look a lot more like an actual production line and slightly less like something I threw together at 3AM.
Void Petals automated.
Red Sand automated.
Resource sorting finally getting fixed.
Sandustry is starting to become dangerously efficient.
