Ditch the bulky laptop! With XR glasses, I can access my desktop, edit files, and run any design software — all while on the go. Here’s how you can too!

RayNeo is advertising their XR glasses as incredible eye wear tech for enhancing gaming and entertainment experiences. While this is true - these XR glasses do a nice job of simulating a very large 201" screen - I wanted to explore the use of XR glasses as a productivity tool instead of just an entertainment device.
I often review maker tools like 3D printers and laser cutters but in my opinion, tools take many shapes and forms. I like to think of anything that helps improve the efficiency or capability of creation as a tool. With XR glasses I found a way to use them to boost my productivity while on the go in a convenient way.
Rather than haul my laptop around everywhere, I can replace that bulky setup with these glasses and use a remote access app from my phone. I can now connect to my powerful desktop computer at home from anywhere. The app of my choice for this ability is the Google Chrome Remote Access app which can be found on the google play store and the IOS store. Using the Samsung Dex interface I still get a full desktop experience and I'm not stuck in the vertical phone layout. It is a true desktop experience right on your face!
Now I can have an enormous private screen to perform my design work anywhere I want. The picture is crystal clear with the micro OLED screens built in, and the glasses only weigh 78g so they don't feel like they weigh down on your face or ears after extended use.
I also found the RayNeo Air 3S XR glasses useful to perform repair or assembly tasks because I can have my reference videos, drawings, etc in front of my face while still being able to see below the glasses and perform tasks.
I really hope more 3d visualization applications are built for glasses like these in the future as I think they would be invaluable for CAD designers to be able to see their work in 3D before sending it off to manufacturing. Industrial designers would appreciate being able to visualize their designs in true 3D perspective to better assess the proportions of their creations. There is so much potential to be explored here!
If you guys have any suggestions for how to put these glasses to use for more than just gaming and entertainment - please let me know in the comments section below.
Hopefully RayNeo will read your comments, or maybe some motivated developer - and bring your ideas to the future of wearable tech!
Thank you RayNeo for sending me these glasses to try!
