Our obsession with finding the world's most incredible waterfalls lives on, and today we're taking you along to the famous Blue Falls of Costa Rica! The hike to this incredible series of waterfalls in Costa Rica's Bajos del Toro features some of the most stunning and massive falls we've yet to encounter. Each of the falls (Tepezquintle, Poza Azul, Las Gemelas, Pintada, Celestial) has it's own character and shade of brilliant blue or turquoise due to the high levels of aluminum sulphate in the water. Because we visited on a very rainy day, the Blue Falls were ROARING.
We truly believe this is one of the best things to do in Costa Rica. It is less well-known compared to other really popular Costa Rica attractions like La Fortuna, which means that if you go on a slightly rainy day, you might be lucky and have the Blue Falls all to yourself!
