Did you know that just 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas is one of the world's premier hiking and climbing locations - Red Rock Canyon? While Red Rock is often overlooked by Vegas visitors, anyone with a love of the outdoors and unique hikes should absolutely consider visiting Red Rock Canyon as a Las Vegas day trip. While Red Rock has hundreds of hiking trails to choose from, for our first adventure we picked the Guardian Angel Pass Loop. Keep in mind the first half of this hike is actually a scramble, but the next half is more of a hike and doing the back half of the loop (if you're not much of a scrambler) gives a true taste of the beauty and awe of Red Rock. If you're looking for a hike in Red Rock Canyon, definitely consider exploring the Guardian Angel Pass and Calico Tanks area.
