Let the European hiking adventures begin! We've been staying in the Ardeche region of the Rhone Alpes in the southeastern area of France, and by far the most famous hiking destination in the Rhone Alpes is known as the Gorges de l'Ardeche. The area is so beautiful that it is also known as the "Grand Canyon of Europe". We found an INCREDIBLE hike known as the Grotte du Parapluie, or the Umbrella Cave. The hike itself drops you straight down into the canyon, where you walk and swim along the river for miles until reaching the Parapluie Cave. We would definitely rate this in the top 5 most beautiful hikes we have ever done, so if you ever find yourself in this region of France, it is a must do!
