We are driving to every Dallas Cowboys game this year. That's nearly 15,000 miles of driving in 18 weeks. We've converted a shuttle bus into our home-made motor-home and we feel like we've prepared everything, both in dthe drivetrain and in the living space, to make this as smooth as possible.
LET'S GO COWBOYS!
In this video: we aligned the drive shaft, which is probably the most important thing we did overall. The bus drive much queiter and smoother now at speeds over 40 mph. Weened up with 1.25 inches of shims to both hanger bearings.
We also built a couch/storage place right beside the driver seat. This has already proven very helpful as it A) gives us a place to store our couch cushion where our dinette is in dinette-mode and B) provides lots of space for things to be tucked away, but still easily accesible.
One of the surprisingly easy things we did was figure out a way to get our HITWAY e-bike on the back platform of the bus. It turns out, that thing folds up quite small, and so all we had to do was buy a taller bag. That was very convenient. As a big thanks to my dad for helping us with a lot of the more complicated stuff in the bus build, we got him an Eco-Worthy battery. We have two of them in our bus, and they have proven reliable. Cold weather, deep cycle, you name it. He can swap out his 4 car batteries for this 280AH LiFePo4 and will have a much better experience. THANKS DAD!
