Hunter Castleton 70" ceiling fan in Northern Sienna. This is another fan I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2023. Was pretty much complete down to every screw all packed up nicely together, although not with much care, so some scratching occurred here and there. I did my best to do some touch-ups and it's overall decent. Looked to have sat in the garage for a couple years with the dust that had settled on it. All that aside, it cleaned up pretty well. Needed a run capacitor change, all speeds were sluggish and the lowest setting was nonexistent/stalled. I feel like these sort of epitomize Hunter's flop era of the earlier 2010s. They were falling behind on design, performance just wasn't overall impressive, and it felt like variation after variation of the same old thing. I do LOVE that this model is 4 speed, and the aesthetic low is FANTASTIC, but otherwise it's not really my taste. The finish is kind of cool at its core, and I don't mind the vent pattern, but this whole era of bronze and tea-stained glass can live happily in the 2000s as far as I'm concerned. I'm actually not unimpressed by the airflow on high all things considered, it does better than I would've expected. Definitely not a showstopper, but not half bad. Not really sure if I'll keep this long-term or not. Definitely something I'd usually probably donate, but now I feel like it's kind of a relic of a very specific Hunter period and it's kind of fun to have.
