Casablanca Julia 52" ceiling fan in matte white with brass accents. Operated using the included wall control. To put it briefly here, the Casablanca releases last year were a step up from what we've seen since 2016, which was really the last majorly impactful drop from them. Now, to be fair, I've liked the other stuff that came out subsequently, but the half decade with no releases at all also didn't present much to work with. Despite liking the designs, the performance aspects were nothing to write home about, and nothing excited me quite like the Duluth did all those years ago. Until now. Admittedly, Julia was middle ground for me in terms of interest at the start, but once I saw the performance data the whole thing started growing on me. The airflow is insane for the size, nice to see something really beat out the legacy K55/XLP models and prove its worth. This is a really nice middle ground contemporary design; it could flex into a number of styles, and just looks really classy. I like that it's also kind of a middle ground between old and new styles. The bulkier housing gives it a little of that throwback feel, which I still occasionally like to see when it's done well. Some people might call it a lack of style innovation, I think of it more as a point where old and new styles merge to make this fan feel at home in more diverse environments. I like that it has presence, but nothing about it is too loud. And that new low speed... what an improvement it is! Better range of performance with a nice soft airflow, and I get chills watching it in motion. It just looks so much better than it ever would at the 60 RPM that used to be standard. As mentioned in the main video, I think the lighting is the next element that needs some work and elevation (the dimming range is really not very good), but for now I'm taking the win with the speed selection.
