A track from the duo’s debut album, “Humpe Humpe”, which was released in 1985. The sisters formed Neonbabies in their native Germany in 1979. The band broke up in 1983, having released three albums and about half a dozen singles. Along the way, Annette found the new wave group, Ideal, in 1980 and they scored with three Top-20 German albums in the period 1981 to early 1983. Annette also sang back up vocals on Trio’s #2 single (in bothe Germany and the UK), “Da Da Da”.
Humpe Humpe released two albums, “Humpe Humpe” and “Swimming With Sharks”. Outside of Germany, the duo used the name Swimming With Sharks as their band name. Their debut album reached #19 on the German album chart but did not produce any hit singles. “3 Of Us” was released as a 12 inch single in the US and included the track, “Yama-Ha”.
The sisters went on to write Udo Lindenberg’s #29 hit, “Ein Herz Kann Man Nicht Reparieren’ in 1991. Annette later formed Ich + Ich with Adel Tawil, scoring with three hit albums between 2005 and 2009.
