Here is RadioLink F121 racing drone. It can be controlled by different transmitters. Today I’m going to introduce how to use RadioLink T16D/T12D to control F121. Take T16D as an example. (This tutorial applies to F121, F121 Pro and F125. )
Power on T16D. Set the parameters we need on T16D.
Enter MAIN menu--Basic menu setting--AUX CH.
We need to assign switches for channel 5 to channel 7.
Channel 5 is used to switch 3 flight modes of F121, so we need to assign a 3 position switch for channel 5. I assign SWC for channel 5.
Channel 6 is used to control the 360 Angle Flips Mode. I assign SWH for channel 6.
Channel 7 is used to arm or disarm the drone. I assign a 2 position switch, SWA for channel 7.
And we don’t need to assign switches for other channels.
And Enter MAIN menu--Receiver settings--RF settings--make sure the module selection is set to internal.
And for the protocol, F121 comes with R8SM mini receiver. R8SM only supports FHSS V1 protocol. So we need to select FHSS V1 protocol here.
The setting is done. Power on F121. Connect the battery to it.
Make sure the polarity is not reversed.
keep it stationary. The self-check is done.
Here is R8SM receiver. The LED is flashing because it is not bound to the transmitter.
We need to long press the binding button of R8SM to bind it to T16D. The binding button is here, on the right side. Press and hold it until the LED flashes fast.
The solid light of the receiver indicates the binding is complete, and there is a signal tower on the screen of T16D, indicates the binding is successful.
(If binding fails, the LED of the receiver will keep flashing slowly, please repeat the binding steps.）
Please always make sure the LED of R8SM is in blue, SBUS working mode. If the LED is in red, PPM working mode, please short press the binding button twice to change it to blue.
Now we can fly it. Select the flight mode. Push SWC up, it is low speed alt-hold mode.
Put SWC in the middle, it is high speed alt-hold mode.
Push SWC down, it is stabilize mode.
Push SWC up to select low speed alt-hold mode.
Then arm the drone.
Make sure the throttle is at the lowest position. Push SWA down to arm F121. The green LED of F121 is on means arm successful. Slightly push the throttle, the propellers start rotate. Then we can fly it indoors or outdoors.
For security reasons, F121 will be disarmed automatically if there is no operation of the throttle for 5 seconds. Please arm it again when the flight is ready.
disarm and arm it again.
After the flight, Push SWA up to disarm F121. The green LED of F121 is off means disarm successful
By the way, for T16D, you can add voice to the switches, so it can broadcast the flight mode when you switch the flight modes. (T12D does not support switch audio function. )
Return the basic menu setting--SWITCH AUDIO. Select SWC. I can set the voice of SWC here. When SWC is pushed up, it is low speed Alt-hold mode. When SWC is in the middle, it is high speed Alt-hold mode. When SWC is pushed down, it is stabilize mode.
Push SWC, you can hear the voice broadcast of the flight modes.
