Hi folks, you can remove all or most of permanent marker from metal and plastics if you soak it with, 90% or higher, Isopropyl Alcohol and then rub it with a paper towel. If it's a little stubborn you can use an acid brush with half the bristles cut off and scrub it. Although it's not always recommended you can also use Brake Cleaner, Goobegone or Carburetor Cleaner as well. Only when using the last chemicals listed you have to get on and off quickly or the chemicals can eat or soften the plastics or painted areas. Hope this little tip helps you folks.
