Description: How to change a 6G Series Alternator on a 99-03 F250-350 7.3L Step by Step with tips and explanations.
Part I used:
- Alternator 200 Amp Upgrade Kit PN 6G7796GYSMPLM $139.00. This kit comes with the Diode assembly already installed, a BIG HELP.

- I can’t strongly suggest enough, that if you rebuild your Alternator with this kit, to watch the video to ensure you don’t BLOW UP your new kit!

Alternate Stock Part No's you can use:
- 110 Amp P/N’s : 4U2Z10V346CKRM, F81U10300EB, F81Z10346EA, F81Z10346EARM & F81Z10V346EBRM
Tools Recommended:
- ½” Drive Ratchet.
- 3” Extension ½” Drive.
- 13mm ½” Drive.
- ½” Torque Wrench capable of 35 ft-lbs. (47Nm).
- 10mm Combination Wrench.
- 13mm Combination Wrench.
- Battery Charger or Heavy Duty Jumper Cables & a vehicle to jump start the truck.
- Step Stool or Chair.
- Tire Step or chair. Powerbuilt 647596 Folding Heavy Duty Tire Steps for Truck SUV RV, $58.64 Plus Tax on Amazon or eBay.
- Wire brush or piece of 100 grit sandpaper.
- Small Multi-Meter to check Battery Voltages. Or check voltage on dash and that no Battery Symbol light is on the dash.
Consumables Used:
- Paper Towels.
Optional Tools Recommended:
- Wire Wheel on a bench grinder to clean the bolts. It just speeds cleaning them up.
- Mechanics Gloves or plastic Gloves.
- 12mm Combination Wrench.
- 14mm Combination Wrench.
Chemicals Uses:
- Anti-Seize Lubricant Permatex 81343 or 133A.
- Hand Cleaner.
