Evisceration Mastery: A detailed, step-by-step walkthrough on how to properly clean a chicken for professional, table-ready results.
The Hand-Tool Method: How to part out a bird with nothing but a sharp knife and standard kitchen tools—perfect for the home cook or beginner homesteader.

We made a major new equipment purchase for Sheraton Park Farms, and the financial reason behind it might surprise you! From mobile chicken tractors to capital investments, here is how we keep the farm moving forward.
Today, Chuck kicks things off in the shop with side-by-side maintenance and a tease of a big farm update. Out in the pasture, Saundra moves our final batch of pasture-raised meat broilers from the brooder into the mobile chicken tractor, topping off feed and water. Next, tag along on our weekly run to pick up fresh, local raw milk from a neighboring farm before heading into the kitchen. Saundra takes our freeze-dried tomato skins—saved from our recent tomato sauce canning sessions—and pulverizes them in the food processor to make nutrient-dense, zero-waste tomato powder for winter cooking.
Finally, we head back up to the shop to unveil our newest piece of farm machinery: a brand new 2-seat Kawasaki Mule side-by-side. Chuck breaks down why we added this machine to tour guests around the farm, and dives into the practical business strategy behind making capital purchases to reduce heavy tax burdens while actively reinvesting in the land.
How do you handle year-end business investments, equipment upgrades, or zero-waste homestead kitchen tricks like tomato powder? Drop your thoughts below!
