Working on a new sample of my Through the Window Rectangle Shawl using Lion Mandala Ombre paired with Lion Brand Color Theory.
This is one of my favorite stitch patterns and always gets a lot of attention when I'm stitching out and about or on my finished projects, so I thought we'd go through it.
This is inset mosaic crochet versus offset mosaic crochet, and the little window stitch pattern I always lean into is just one way to use inset mosaic crochet.
🩷 Start with a chain that is a multiple of 4 + 3 so something like 12 + 3 = chain 15
💚 Single Crochet (US SC) into the 2nd chain and each chain across.
🩷 You'll end up with a number that is a multiple of 4 + 2. In our same example, 15 chains would equal 14 stitches.
💚 Row 2: Chain 1, turn. SC into the 1st stitch and each stitch across, switching to your coordinating color in the last yarn over of the last stitch.
🩷 Row 3: Chain 1, turn. SC into each of the 1st 2 stitches, (chain 2, skip each of the next 2 stitches, SC into each of the next 2 stitches) across.
💚 Row 4: Chain 1, turn. SC into each of the 1st 2 stitches, (chain 2, skip the chain space, SC into each of the next 2 stitches) across.

![How to Add a Hanging Loop to Crocheted Washcloth | How to Crochet a Hanging Loop for a Washcloth
Learn how to add a hanging loop to a crocheted washcloth so you can easily dry your crocheted dishcloth or keep it stored out of the way until youre ready to use it. The bonus is the hanging loop will also keep your washcloth from falling down.
The washcloths I am showing the tutorial for are my Haylee ones as part of my 2024 Mystery Washcloth Crochet a Long, but you can easily work this tutorial into any single crochet border on a washcloth.

![Through the Window Mosaic Crochet Afghan Border in the Back Loop 💙💚 | EyeLoveKnots
In my last video, I touched on working into the side edge to work the first round of the border on my afghan. For the remaining rounds, Ive decided on [US] single crochet worked into the back loop only. It creates a beautiful ribbed fabric with a ridge, and I just love it! And its easy to work too!
💙To single crochet into the back loop only (or SC into the BLO): rather than inserting into the stitch to pick up both loops of the V shape, insert your hook into the top center of the stitch. Push your hook towards the back, or wrong side of the fabric, picking up just the back loop of the stitch on your hook. Finish the stitch as normal (ie yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through both loops).
