For Day 1 of the Fun & Fruity Crafting Event hosted at Yarn Crafts & Coffee, we're crocheting a Watermelon Slice Applique that is perfect for a variety of Summer projects!

💚 Appliques are great for yarn scraps, and it's so easy to change up the size by simply changing the yarn weight and hook size.

🧶 I've made my applique in WeCrochet Dishie, which is a 100% cotton yarn, but depending on how you'll use your watermelon slice, it's so easy to reach for a different fiber that matches your project.

What to make with a crocheted applique?

🍉 Sew it onto a granny square, blanket, beanie, scarf or garment.

🍉 Glue it onto the front of a card or wall art canvas.

🍉 Starch it to use as a pendant for a necklace.

🍉 String a bunch together to create a garland.

🍉 Use as the flap on a small bag or pocket.
